As of 2025, the Import Declaration Management System (IDMS) will replace the current PLDA system for import declarations in Belgium. This new platform represents an important step towards more modern and digital processing of customs formalities.

Developed in line with the EU Customs Data Model, IDMS brings clear benefits:

• improved data quality,

• greater flexibility in handling declarations,

• and more reliable electronic data exchange.

Later this year, PLDA will no longer be available for import declarations. From that moment on, all declarations will have to be submitted exclusively through IDMS.

DTB is prepared for this transition. Systems have been updated and are operational, ensuring that import declarations can be processed correctly and on time within IDMS.
