Brexit

On Friday June 12th 2020, it was confirmed that the UK Government will not be seeking an extension to the EU exit Transition Period.

It is now certain that the UK will be operating as a fully-fledged third country as from 1 January 2021. Starting from that date, new border controls and procedures will be introduced.

The announcement comes after the meeting of the Withdrawal Agreement Joint Committee – the last formal moment to agree an extension to the Transition Period – at which the UK Government confirmed the long-standing position that no such extension would be sought.
